MARCO DI CONSIGLIO,
OVER 20 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE.
The preparation of gelato at Gelaaati is supervised by the gelato master Di Consiglio Marco, with over 20 years of experience and a great passion in making homade and traditional gelatos.

Marco was born within an Italian family of gelato producers. He started his career in 1991 helping his father at a gelato shop in Milán. Soon, Marco and his family moved abroad, where they opened a traditional gelato shop. The new gelato shop was a great success and they created a traditional gelato shop franchise, which allowed Marco to learn the best techniques and making process of the authentic traditional gelato.

In 2006, Marco and his partner, Dana Di Consiglio, started a project together and they opened their own gelato shop in Barcelona, GELAAATI DI MARCO, where they make Italian gelatos from the most traditional to the most innovated, creative and surprising flavors.

The passion, creativity, continuous training and concern for innovation lead Marco to consecrate GELAAATI DI MARCO as one of the best appreciated gelato shop in Barcelona, getting certificates of excellence and mentions. In 2014 GELAAATI DI MARCO entered in the ranking of the 50 best gelato shops of the world according to "Dissapore" and they received the “Eccellenze Italiane” certificate in 2015.

We have passion for quality, that’s why we make our gelatos daily, using natural and top quality ingredients. Our gelatos are healthy and they are easily digested for being low in fat (91/96% fat free) and not contain any preservatives or hydrogenated vegetable fats.

We take care of the making process of all our products, not only using top quality ingredients, but also ensuring the hygiene and safety throughout the making process. We select the best fresh seasonal fruit from the local market to make our sorbets.

We insist in maintain the tradition and quality of our products using the best ingredients from Italy: IGP Piemonte hazelnuts, Sicilian pistachio (Bronte), aromatic cocoa, Marsala from Sicily, among others. As well as national and top quality ingredients such as: d’ordall peach, Gramona’s cava, fresh milk from Catalunya’s farm, saffron, watermelon and avocado pear from nearby crops, bananas from canarias, etc.

You can enjoy our gelato in our shop, taking it in a cone or a cup, or if you prefer you can take it home in our specially designed container to keep the gelato in perfect condition for days.

Our secret is the continuous research of the best way to prepare our gelato. We are creative; we look for new flavors and textures getting inspiration in patisserie, cooking recipes or ancient traditions. We invent, transform and experiment with the materials to create new sensations to the taste and play with the senses.
